Indie Retro News: Target Renegade Remix

In 1988 Ocean Software ( Imagine Label ) released a fine beat em up for the Amstrad CPC, C64 and ZX Spectrum. It was a great title that featured both single player and two player fighting with you playing as street fighters known only as Renegade in a revenge against a kingpin named “Mr. Big” for murdering their brother. Well if you remember this fine game from the 80’s you’ll be pleased to know that Havie has just teased some new footage of the upcoming Amiga version, which is being ported over for the AmigaGameJam.

Still needs to be tested on a real Amiga – has a vanilla 600 to try but looks highly likely that this will need 2 meg (initially).

With new albeit beta footage available above or linked (here), according to the creator, not only was this game a project that was started about 15 years ago (stopped due to life getting in the way) written for PC using Blitz Basic PC. But with the help of Swainy, he had re-coloured all of the ZX Spectrum graphics over to the Amiga, with most of the first level working and now with added music by Saimon69. In fact the game has come along in such a way it now features new footage and as as he also says “feels like this is finally becoming a playable game”
